Description
A free public forum to explore what it means to create and sustain a more inclusive community in Lancaster County. This free public forum is a follow up to CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health's Community Conversation event with Nikole Hannah-Jones, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and creator of the 1619 Project: A New Origin Story, an initiative of The New York Times Magazine being held on April 21st. While the 1619 Project and the work of Ms. Hannah-Jones has become controversial in areas of our local community and across the country, we believe she brings light to important change that is necessary in our society. By embracing and uplifting the voices and experiences that have too often been ignored, misrepresented or silenced, our greater potential can be unlocked. This special forum will provide the opportunity for our community to explore what it means to create and sustain a more inclusive community in Lancaster County. The event will host a panel of Local leaders, from a diverse range of sectors, to share their views, their experiences, and their perspectives about how we can create a more just, honest, inclusive and healthier community. Kevin Ressler, President and CEO of the United Way of Lancaster County will act as moderator collecting questions from the audience and exploring them in conversation with the panel. The event will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 7-8:30 PM at Millersville University’s Student Memorial Center in the Reighard Multi-Purpose Room. Please feel free to contact Kelly Smith - [email protected] - with any questions. Dedicated to improving the health of children and families, CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health improves access, linkage and coordination of local children’s health services and programs while serving as a leading voice in collaborative efforts to improve the health and well-being of the Lancaster Community. Every child and family has a unique health journey, our goal is to serve as a supportive voice and companion on their path to growing up healthy and happy.
