Description

I worry a lot; but that is not unusual from what I read about being at this pinnacle of age. Yet, the voices I hear are beginning to become an issue. I fear something is going amiss, and I become concerned. This morning, without warning, I was told not to delete, and the voice became (in my opinion) strident. It repeated the message, and I reluctantly relinquished my cup of coffee and looked for the source. I was reading email and my Ipad was silent. The second Ipad (yes I admit, I own more than one, and please don't ask why) was being recharged. Can you speak when being recharged? Perhaps that's my problem, I need recharging. My cell phone was hidden in the depths of the clutter on my desk, and I couldn't hear it if it cried out for help. I was weary of Alexa last night and yes, I pulled her plug. Temporarily, but sometimes she makes me weary. Yet, someone was telling me not to delete. What, where or who. Then with total gratitude, I realized it was coming not from any of my usual appliances, apparatuses, whatever, but for the very first time, My landline answering machine had spoken. And I wondered why or who or what had given me this totally unwelcome gift.Obviously, not a loved one, but another well meaning innovator of what Big Brother believes are needs in our world today. But do we really?
