MILWAUKEE, WI — Michael Huddleston, 47, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide on Wednesday after his 8-year-old daughter was shot and killed. Huddleston was charged with first-degree reckless homicide and possessing a firearm as a felon after his daughter Tiana Huddleston died on Jan. 15. The man told police that he had accidentally pulled the trigger of his .22 pistol when his daughter was "in the wrong place, in the wrong time," the criminal complaint said. Huddleston said that he had drank two pints of tequila before trying to teach his children about gun safety. 911 operators got a call from Huddleston's 18-year-old stepson telling them when Tiana was shot. "He shot her and threw her over his shoulder, he has a silver van. They are on their way to the hospital," the unnamed stepson said in the complaint. An autopsy performed by a doctor for the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office found that Tiana had a gunshot wound to her chest and ruled the manner of her death as a homicide.
