Description
Just looking for any advice on this cat situation, tx.
About three years ago I noticed some stray cats would sit on my front steps and generally hang around the area.
They were hungry so I fed them. I think some neighbors moved out and just left them behind. Anyway, I've been caring for them - at a distance - for a few years now but I may be moving. I give them healthy food/water every day and built a makeshift yet warm shelter for them in the freezing weather. They are not really friendly with me despite my efforts for all of this time. Neither will they let me pet them so I keep my distance. I have a cat (inside) that doesn't like one or both of them, so that's not an option to bring them in. (That was never my intention anyway. I just wanted to help them out a little bit.)
When I move, I don't want to abandon them, but no one else will feed them or give them shelter. They are a bonded pair and I'm guessing are no less than 6-8 years old? I'm really not sure. I wouldn't be able to catch them so if I report them to someone, they would have to capture them. I do not want them to go to a kill shelter. Who would adopt two cats that aren't friendly though? They are loving with each other. I don't want them to live in a cage for the rest of their lives either. They are used to roaming around. I want the best for them and am hoping this is their last winter outdoors. Any advice on how to best relocate these two cats would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
