HARLEM, NY — A person was struck by a train in a Harlem subway station during Wednesday evening rush hour, according to the MTA. The person was hit at the 125th Street station near Lenox Avenue, according to an New York City Transit tweet sent about 4:45 p.m. The MTA warned commuters to expect delays on 2 and 3 lines as emergency responders cared for the injured straphanger. The 2 trains were temporarily rerouted to the 5 line between Nevins Street and 149 St-Grand Concourse, the MTA said. Normal service resumed after about 30 minutes. This is the third time a person was hit by a subway train in two days, after a man was fatally run over by a 7 train at Grand Central Station and another man was critically injured at the Barclays Center station in Brooklyn Tuesday. It's also less than week after 40-year-old Michelle Go lost her life when she was pushed in front of a Q train at the Times Square stop. The FDNY did not respond to two email requests for information sent at about 5:15 and 5:30 or answer the phone when Patch called at about 5:40 p.m.
