Headliner Drops Out Of 2022 Boston Calling Music Festival

BOSTON — Rage Against the Machine dropped out of the 2022 Boston Calling Music Festival, a three-day event the band was supposed to headline after a two-year pandemic fueled hiatus. On Thursday, Organizers of Boston Calling said Rage Against the Machine would no longer be performing at the Memorial Day Weekend festival, taking place from May 27-29. The band did not immediately explain why they postponed the shows. Rage Against the Machine and the Foo Fighters were both set to headline the 2020 edition of the festival, but it and the following year were both canceled. Last May, Boston Calling said both bands would return to the City as planned, but Thursday Rage took to Twitter, saying they would be postponing tour dates from March through May. As of right now, the Foo Fighters continue to be the headliner, with featured artists like HAIM, Run the Jewels, and KennyHoopla still participating with over 50 other artists. Customers who purchased tickets for the 2021 festival were allowed to request a refund or roll their tickets over to the 2022 festival. As an incentive, those who used a continued ticket were also given a credit of up to $75 for use on the festival site. A full lineup with new artists will be announced Friday.
