Press release from Andover Public Schools: January 19, 2022 On Tuesday, February 8th at 6:00 pm, Andover Public Schools will host a virtual meeting to update the community on the new West Elementary and Shawsheen Preschool. As you may know, this past June, Andover residents overwhelmingly approved funding for a new pre-K to grade 5 school to be built directly behind the current West Elementary. Construction will begin this spring. The new West El is expected to open for the start of the 2024-25 school year and the new Shawsheen is expected to open for the start of the 2025-26 school year. This is an exciting project which will offer many benefits to our students, families and to the whole Andover community. The purpose of the meeting on Tuesday, February 8th at 6:00 pm is to update the community, particularly families with students who attend West El, on the project and to discuss the next steps in the building process, including the changes in traffic patterns and drop off/pick up procedures that will take place during the construction. We also will try to answer any questions you may have. Our architects and construction manager, as well as representatives from Andover Public Schools, will be at the meeting.
