Description
ANDOVER, MA — Andover plans to have a new electric vehicle charging station operational at the high school by February, the town said in the first edition of its new sustainability newsletter Andover 250.
The monthly newsletter is named for the state's deadline for net-zero carbon emissions, under the Massachusetts Climate Act.
According to the first edition, the Department of Facilities received a $48,518 grant from the state's Massachusetts Electric Vehicle Incentive Program for electric vehicle charging station hardware, signage and installation.
The charging station, expected to be complete by next month, will support the 10 or more electric vehicles already used by the Andover High School community, the newsletter said.
The newsletter also announced that the police department has recently purchased two hybrid vehicles, Ford Interceptors.
