Description

Press release from Albuquerque Public Schools: January 19, 2022 All APS employees, including substitutes and contractors with APS credentials and Gmail accounts, are now required to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). The deadline for enabling 2FA is Friday, Jan. 21.  If these steps aren't completed by Friday, Jan. 21, access to district systems and devices will be disabled. The only way to reestablish access is by calling the Technology Service Desk at 505-830-8080 If you completed this process recently, please double-check to make sure the Two-Factor Authentication is turned on by going to Google's Security Checkup External link opens a new window. .  If you haven't enabled 2-Step Authentication, please follow the instructions found on the APS Education Technology Cybersecurity website External link . For assistance, call the Technology Service Desk at 505-830-8080 or ask for guidance from coworkers who know about 2FA.  As added protection, if you have a personal (non-APS) Google account,  you may want to follow the same steps to secure your personal account as well.   Most people only have one layer – their password – to protect their accounts. With 2-Step Authentication, if a bad guy hacks through your password layer, he'll still need your phone or Security Key to get into your account.  This press release was produced by Albuquerque Public Schools.
