Parking Ban, Transfer Station Closure Announced In Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — A parking ban will be in effect in Hamden, beginning at 3 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20 and ending at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, Mayor Lauren Garrett and Acting Public Works Director Matthew Kott announced. The parking ban prohibits anyone to park, or allow to remain parked, any vehicle on any odd numbered portion of a town street or highway. The ban further prohibits any person to allow or permit a vehicle to stand or park on any Town street or highway in such a manner as to constitute a hazard or obstruction to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The Hamden Police Department is authorized, pursuant to Section 71.07 of the Code of the Town of Hamden, to remove any vehicle parked in violation of this ordinance. Such removal shall be at the risk and expense of the owner of the vehicle. The Hamden Transfer Station will also be closed due to the weather and associated clean-up operations from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, at which time it will resume regular operations with normal business hours.
