WOODBRIDGE, NJ — At the Woodbridge council meeting Tuesday night, the town council approved Sharon McAuliffe to fill the seat formerly held by Nancy Drumm. As Patch reported, Drumm tragically passed away on Jan. 2. She died at 62 years old, having been diagnosed with cancer nine months ago. Drumm, who lived in Woodbridge for her entire life, was extremely involved in Woodbridge Township and was just about to begin her third term as the First Ward councilwoman. Now, McAuliffe was sworn in as the First Ward Council rep. McAuliffe is the owner of Knot Just Bagels, a Woodbridge institution. The Main Street bagel business has been open for the past 17 years, but she was forced to leave last summer when the property owner sold the land so it could be converted into a seven-story apartment building. McAuliffe previously told Patch she plans to reopen Knot Just Bagels, this time at 93 Main Street. But she has not reopened yet. McAuliffe was Drumm's best friend, according to the Home News Tribune.
