MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Montgomery County Public Schools are closed due to severe weather conditions on Jan. 20, the district announced Thursday morning. The district had initially said there would be a two-hour delay Wednesday night, but changed the call Thursday morning. Some parents received messages saying there would be a two -hour delay on Thursday morning, after they got a text saying there would be no school. The district said that was an error with the messaging system, and the most recent update is that there is no school. Administrative offices are opening two hours late and the announcement said child care programs may open by 9 a.m., though no update was posted after 9.
