CYPRESS, TX — A precautionary lockdown was put in place at Cypress Park High School on Thursday morning and already has been lifted, Cy-Fair ISD officials confirmed to Patch.
The lockdown was put in place because of a "phone call" the school received, officials said.
No other details about the call to the school were given.
"Out of an abundance of caution, Cypress Park High School was on lockdown this morning so that CFPD and campus administration could conduct a thorough investigation regarding a phone call that the campus received," Cy-Fair ISD spokesperson Leslie Francis said. "The lockdown has been lifted, and students and staff have returned to their normal daily routine."
The Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident to back up Cy-Fair police, a spokesperson told Patch.
There was no "imminent danger" to staff or students, and the campus crisis plan "worked perfectly," the school said in a statement.
