Annapolis Officer Arrested, Charged With Assault: Police

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Annapolis Police Department announced Thursday that one of its off-duty officers was arrested after a Saturday assault. The agency said it no longer employs the accused officer, identified as 26-year-old Dwight Forsythe of Odenton. Authorities said Forsythe was arrested in Anne Arundel County, outside the City of Annapolis. The release listed Forsythe's charges as: First-degree assaultSecond-degree assaultReckless endangerment Investigators did not give any more information. They also did not clarify whether Forsythe left the agency willingly or whether he was fired. This is the second recent personnel incident for the Annapolis Police Department.
