FREMONT, CA — Several agencies and volunteers continued to search Thursday morning for Michael Odell, a travel nurse at Stanford Hospital who left in the middle of a shift on Tuesday and never returned. Odell, 27, "left work abruptly" to head to his car around 4:30 a.m. and "never came back," his roommate, Joshua Paredes, told NBC Bay Area. Odell's car was found Tuesday by the Dumbarton Bridge Toll Plaza in Fremont, but there was no sign of him. Odell worked as a neurological nurse in the intensive care unit, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "We are deeply concerned and hope that this nurse is found quickly and safely," Stanford Hospital said in a statement. The CHP Hayward and Coast Guard were helping in the search on Wednesday, the Chronicle reported. A public Facebook page was set up by volunteers organizing a search for Odell. Odell is 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds. He has hazel eyes and short brown hair and was last seen wearing gray scrubs. According to the Facebook page, any tips should be sent to [email protected] or CHP Public Information Officer Kylie Musselman at 510-427-9013.
