AGOURA HILLS, CA — A traffic accident involving an overturned big rig caused backups on the State Route 101 (Ventura Freeway) Thursday morning in Thousand Oaks, according to the California Department of Transportation, District 7. The accident, which was reported around 8 a.m. on the southbound Ventura Freeway at Lynn Road, created a hazmat spill and put 23,000 pounds of cargo into the freeway. The right lane was closed for multiple hours to clean up the material. An overturned big rig dumped tons of cargo and created a hazmat spill in Thousand Oaks Thursday morning.
