ATLANTA, GA — Many people honored Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday by giving back to their communities or volunteering, including some notable faces. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent MLK Day supporting The King Center in Atlanta. A spokesperson for the couple told PEOPLE magazine that the couple provided meals to volunteers and staff. PEOPLE reported that two Atlanta-based, Black-owned food trucks, Paige's Pastries & Bistro and Parlay Savory Saloon, were on site to provide free lunches. Bernice King, daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., tweeted about the couple's part in the day's events. "Thank you, Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for providing local Black-owned food trucks for @TheKingCenter's King Day Community Service Project volunteers today," she tweeted. "I'm so grateful for your graciousness in honoring my father." The King Center also tweeted about the couple and thanking them. "Your care matters so much to those here to register and educate voters and collect items for our homeless neighbors," the Center said in the tweet. There was also a voter registration, education drive and service project that gathered donations for homeless people in Atlanta.
