Forklift – Heavy Equipment Automotive Mechanic Technician THIS IS NOT A FORKLIFT OPERATOR JOB !! PMT Forklift is looking to hire Experienced Forklift or Heavy Equipment Mechanic -Technicians - Auto Mechanics, Fleet Maintenance. We have positions open for both Shop Mechanics (Long Island), Road Service Technicians (Long Island and NYC – 5 Boros, and PM (Preventative Maintenance Mechanics) for both Long Island, and the New York City 5 Boros Region. Full-time M-F 8am-5pm with weekend and overtime availability Must have familiarity with automotive systems such as: • Hydraulics • Engines & Transmissions • Brakes systems • Preventive Maintenance • Fuel systems • Steering systems (pumps, axles, etc…) • Electrical troubleshooting (i.e. batteries, chargers and Alternators, etc…) You don’t have to be an expert in all areas, but mut have basic knowledge in some if not all. Basic Job tasks are: • Troubleshoot, fix, and repair customer and company owned equipment such as Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, Scissor lifts, etc… • Starter and Battery repairs • change hydraulic and fuel line hoses • steer axle repairs, etc… • Install safety eq. such as lights and alarms • Safety inspections for items such as lights and horns • Preventative Maintenance – Machine Lubrication Online Continuing training and factory training is available from our manufactures we represent but you will need basic knowledge of the job task and automotive mechanical work. Automatic increase in pay with completion of each module. Competitive pay for top performers starting at $18/Hr. for entry level. Salary IS negotiable pending qualifications.
