New to Philadelphia? Have a saxophone in a case behind the couch? Haven’t played your guitar for years but it’s something you enjoy and miss? Please accept this invitation to bring your sax, accordion, drumsticks, violin, or banjo to play some sweet string band music. If you play guitar it is a fairly easy transition to banjo. Play a large horn, drums, glockenspiel, or upright bass? Our band has some of these instruments in house for you to play. Maybe you grew up in Philly or the Suburbs and always wanted to be part of a string band but never found the time or didn’t know how to go about getting started. Please come by our open rehearsal and see if you would like to be part of the Country’s oldest folk tradition. See if you would like to be part of the Pennsport String Band. All are welcome.
