This diverse company is vertically integrated with in-house departments responsible for execution of the company’s activities including, property acquisition and development, financing, and construction management services. There is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join our construction management team as an Onsite Construction Superintendent. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self starter with strong written and verbal communication skills along with a proven track record in multitasking, problem solving and prioritizing workloads. Responsibilities of Project Team Leader: The Construction Manager position is responsible for all aspects of the onsite construction process. Coordinating all activities of a project to ensure contract document compliance, effective risk management, project cost controls, cost reporting, project scheduling and appropriate trade sequencing. The Construction Manager is responsible for collecting bids, preparing subcontract agreements / purchase orders, processing of all project billing documents each month, and overall construction documentation control. Align each project with Hawthorn’s high standards to ensure that all quality and safety standards are met. Education and/or Experience: Minimum 5 years of large commercial or multifamily residential construction related project management experience. Certificate, University degree, or college diploma in construction management, engineering or similar field is preferred. 30-hour OSHA training certification, Hazcom certification, Erosion and Dust Control Certificates, other related trainings and certifications are a plus. Skills and Qualifications: Candidate must be self-motivated, dependable, dedicated, willing to learn and be part of a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to understand, communicate, execute and take responsibility of all aspects of the project. Must be an engaged, active, hands-on leader of the onsite construction team on a daily basis. Take ownership and pride of a clean, organized, and safe jobsite. Ability to understand and implement a safety program conforming to OSHA requirements. Manage all necessary resources throughout the entire construction project from biding to contract administration, start-up through closeout. Plan and direct all site operations to meet quality standards and scheduling requirements. Ability to conduct oneself as a representative of the company to all involved parties including colleagues, subcontractors, partners, vendors and government authorities. Ability to physically lift and maneuver heavy/large objects including - appliances, furniture, equipment and other materials. Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day on the job site including multiple flights of stairs. Demonstrated experience working with MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience using MS Project and other construction software is desired. Ability and willingness to relocate into different markets nationwide.
