NEED ASSISTANT BUILDING ENGINEER/ TECHNICIAN 68 unit loft apartment building in the 2600 block of Washington Blvd. Chicago is seeking a Part-Time ASSISTANT BUILDING MAINTENANCE ENGINEER/ TECHNICIAN. Responsibilities include: 1. Perform interior and exterior repairs to maintain apartments, common areas, including rooftop deck and garages. This includes BASIC appliance repairs (HVAC, Hot water heaters, Kitchen appliances, plumbing, etc.). Does not include MAJOR repairs that require a specialized technician. This is also as back-up and working with our Full-Time Engineer. 2. Regularly communicate with building management and residents as to the status of service requests, and monitor "repairs" email requests 24 hours/day (WHEN “ON CALL”). 3. Respond to and correct after hours repair/ service emergencies on a timely basis (WHEN “ON CALL”). 4. Maintain trash compactor and rotate dumpsters for Tuesday and Friday sanitation pick up. 5. TURNOVERS---MUST BE AVAILABLE 3 DAYS BEFORE AND 3 DAYS AFTER MONTH END for unit turnovers between March - September. 6. Snow removal. 7. Secure adequate back up personnel for responsibilities if you are not available or out of town. 8. Licensed/ Insured PREFERRED. 9. Ensure inventory of adequate parts and supplies are in stock. 10. Maintain provided WORKSHOP/ maintenance shop in a neat and orderly manner at all times. Hourly compensation based on experience and committed availability. BONUSES OFFERED.
