Join Artists Frame Service! We are searching for a reliable Shipping & Receiving Clerk/ Back-up Driver to work independently receiving, inspecting, and processing beautiful home furnishings and packing custom frames. Our warehouse in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago supports multiple retail stores and is need of an additional team member in our shipping and receiving department. Work hours are 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. The role requires about 40 hours per week and reports to the Dock Supervisor. Job Overview: - Using typical warehouse equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, or dolly to move items. - Help load and unload trucks. Receiving Duties: - Verify incoming items against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and recording shortages. - Document damage by taking photos of damaged items and making Supervisor and Purchaser aware of damages. Shipping duties: - Writing up of bills of lading. - Prepare small furnishings, home accessories and frames for shipment, including packing and creating labels. - Creating and building pallets, crates and skids. - Ship packages with UPS Worldship. Driving duties: - Back-up driver for 26 ft Box Truck - Back -up daily runs between retail showrooms and warehouse Requirements: -High school diploma or GED. -Must be able lift 65 lbs occasionally throughout the workday. -Forklift experience needed. -Hand tool experience needed ( e.g. Drill and Saws ) -C license preferred -Basic Measuring -Strong vision and attention to detail, as required for performing thorough inspections and finding small flaws. -Good communication skills, both verbal and written are required and using a computer is preferred. -Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
