I have alot of degus looking for new home. These would not make good pets for kids. I have adults and babies ready for there for ever homes. I got three from a rescue was told thy were all females well now I have a crap ton of babies. I have standard brown, grey and tan or sand as some call them, there very cute and fun to watch there friendly and will come to you for treats but thy do not like to be picked up and held. As to why there not great pets for kids. I have males and females. Thy need to go in pairs or large group as there very social with each and do better with a friend or friends. I also have critter Nation cages I am willing to sell those if all degus in the cage are taken.
