**PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE EMAILING ME** I am looking to rehome two male red ear slider turtles approx 5 years old. I initially rescued these animals because their former owner was going to release them into a river where they would certainly meet their death (this was right after the terrible storming that caused flooding everywhere last year), if not ruin the local ecosystem as red eared sliders are not native to New York State. PLEASE NOTE THESE ANIMALS CAN LIVE UP TO 30 YEARS WHEN PROPERLY CARED FOR. THIS IS A LONG TERM INVESTMENT. TURTLES ARE NOT CUDDLY NOR ARE THEY TOYS FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. I unfortunately cannot care for them even though I fully intended to, spending hundreds of dollars on new equipment for their comfort etc. My health has declined in the last few months rendering me unable to fully care for these creatures the way they need. I am looking for someone EXPERIENCED with these animals and will request an interview before handing them over, so please be prepared to let me know how you intend to care for them. I can provide their entire setup, including 40 gallon wide tank, new filter, new UVA and UVB lights, basking platform, aquarium sand, tank decorations, extra tubing for the filter, water conditioner, “sludge destroyer” water treatment, nitrogen testing kit, and plenty of turtle food and treats. Pickup in Ridgewood NY, I may be able to deliver depending on your availability and location. $100 rehoming fee. You will not need to purchase anything for these animals, save a new UVA/UVB lamp whenever the current ones give out (shouldnt be for a few months)
