Winter Bird Walk
We invite you to join us for our first program of 2022. RIPA's Winter Bird Walk. A chance to look for and learn about the approximately 50+ species of birds that either live year-round on Randall's Island, or winter with us.
Our Guide: Gabriel Willow is a renowned environmental educator, ecologist, and urban naturalist who lives and works in New York City. He is known for his birding tours and city wildlife tours, which he has led since 1999, through the parks, gardens, and waterways of New York City. He has guided many tours over the years on Randall's Island.
Who should attend: All interested birders, from first timers to experienced birders. We welcome people of all abilities and backgrounds. This program will help you locate, identify and learn about birds and the NYC environment. It will be an exciting tour as Randall's Island is an oasis where you can learn and discover something new/different every time out. We look forward to sharing our natural areas with you.
When: Saturday, January 29th at 2:00pm
Where: Meet at the base of the 103rd Street Footbridge RI side.
