Description
The Seed is Still in Darkness: Sensing Aliveness Painstaking attention to what is being regenerated in darkness requires every ounce of forbearance we can muster. We’re eager to poke our heads out into light, but the seed is still in darkness. Synthesis of the new and regeneration of the old takes time. Our attention now goes to the forces of life within us and our ecosystem. Normally we don’t pay attention to these sensations, but that is the whole of our task now. During this season, focusing on sensation helps us to not jump to a conclusion about who we’re becoming. We’re focusing on the fact that we simply are. Like Cynthia Bourgeault says, “Pay attention to not what you are but that you are.” Easier said than done, I know. This takes practice, which is what we do at Wild Earth! ************** Trying a new spot Sunday, Potomac Overlook Regional Park in Arlington, VA at 2:00. (Note that the time is 2:00!) Thanks to Al for introducing these 67 acres to us and providing knowledge of what we know (or as Al says, what we think we know) about the indigenous people who were on this ground before us. We will be masking and social distancing. One’s mask may be removed while speaking to the group so that you may be heard. Please register so we can keep you updated with any changes. Directions –There is a light at Marcey Road from Military Road. Drive down to the end of Marcey to the picnic shelter, where the parking circle is for the park. If that area is full, circle back around down the hill to Marcey, where you can park on either side of the street. After you park, someone (most likely Al) will greet you at the gates that say, “authorized vehicles.” You’ll follow a short asphalt path to signs on the left where we’ll gather in the forest. First photo: Entrance to parking circle. If this is filled, return to Marcy Road and park along the street. Second photo: We’ll have a sign here instructing you to walk left here to our spot. LIABILITY Your attendance at the event is understood to hold The Wild Earth Spiritual Community and its leaders harmless in case of illness, accident, or injury.
