ABOUT ALIVE AFTER FIVE: AA5 showcases incredible, diverse musical talent from all over the Southeastern United States. Kick off your weekend with musicians and entertainers as they take the stage with a backdrop of awe-inspiring art from East Tennessee and beyond. Adding to the flavor of the Alive After Five experience, each concert has food available from various food vendors, plus cash bars, and free popcorn! FEATURED ENTERTAINMENT: “THE SAXTRESS”—BRITTANY ATTERBERRY Brittany Atterberry is an African American, female saxophonist, songwriter, and national recording artist with an insatiable love for R&B matched only by her adoration for the idiosyncrasies of Jazz. Born and raised in Ohio, Brittany began her journey as a clarinet player at age 10. Her mother exposed her to industries finest contemporary artists like Dave Koz, Gerald Albright, and Kenny G's smooth sounds on Cleveland's 107.3 the Wave radio station. In high school, she began playing the saxophone and later pursued a degree in Music Therapy at Cleveland State University. Aside from performing on the saxophone, Brittany Atterberry cultivated a fulfilling internship at Metro Health Hospital, presenting music therapy to patients in need. Her dynamic skill set as a Music Therapist and exhilarating Saxophonist, allowed her to share her passion for music in multiple facets. While there, she traveled the floors of the Intensive Care Unit, helping sic patients through musical healing. Brittany played piano and guitar while singing, to help patients/clients accomplish non-musical goals. Cleveland is the home of some of the finest musicians in the United States, and she's one of them. Brittany Atterberry has sat in with top bands in the city and studied under expert musicians. Brittany's talent has allowed her to travel to many cities including LA, where she's attended the NAMM conference annually and performed with many industry-leading musicians such as Paul Taylor, Derek Brown, Darren Rahn, and Riley Richards. While her list of performances has amassed a great following, some of her most notable performances were with David Adkins (known to the world as "Sinbad"), Lin Roundtree, and many others.
