Description
Juniper has been my best friend for the past three (3) years. I adopted him in Brooklyn, NY from the Humane Society when I lived there and at the time they thought he was around four (4) years old, so I think he's about 7 now. They said that he was left in a carrier next to a school which sounded very traumatic, so I was so happy that I could be his new home. He's been an amazing companion. He's so soft and loves to cuddle! He will lie next to you in bed and let you cradle him with your arm it's the most adorable thing. He loves being picked up, put in boxes, has a really funny personality and a derpy face with a blep tongue that sticks out all the time, and he is very photogenic. Juniper has never bit me - he's not aggressive at all - he still has his claws (I don't believe in de-clawing), but doesn't swipe or scratch humans. Juniper is really good with other animals and curious when he's introduced to new humans. At his foster family, he was living with a dog, 2 rats, and a bearded dragon! When I moved to Austin from NYC, I got a border collie dog and they have been co-existing very well - there have never been any crazy incidents or fights (although they do growl at each other sometimes). I've included a picture where they're actually both laying on my bed together in harmony:) This July, I moved in with my partner (who also has an 70lb dog) and it's a one-bedroom, so we don't have much space. Since the move, I've noticed that Juniper seems stressed when he's going to the bathroom or looking for food. I took him to the vet to make sure nothing was wrong and his blood work came back fine. After 6 months, I think with 2 dogs in a one-bedroom it's just not conducive to Juniper's happiness anymore which makes me really sad, and it's hard to start this process of re-homing, but I'd much rather find him a home where he can live out his days with more space and more peace. Juniper has a couple of quirks. 1) he is very vocal. whenever he's looking for food he yells until someone feeds him. 2) we think he might be deaf because he moves his head around when there are loud sounds like he can't tell where it's coming from (we never got him tested). Maybe this is why he yells so loud because he can't hear himself meow! I think Juniper would love another cat companion. When my mom and her cat were living with me, they (both boy cats) got along so well. Juniper was very curious about the other cat and they had many cute sparring matches and cuddly hangouts. I would love it if he found a home with another cat to keep him company. Juniper comes with: - Pet insurance for the entire year of 2022! (we can transfer it into your name) - Pet carrier (pictured) - Top-down litter box (pictured); I've tried a few different litter boxes and this is the one that works the best for him. Breed: Domestic shorthair Color: Gray Eyes: Golden Green City: Austin, TX Spayed: Yes Vaccinations: Yes Litterbox trained: Yes To make sure he finds a good and safe home, there is a small re-homing fee. Please send me your questions! Looking forward to meeting Juniper's new family member <3 Abbi
