Description

In this beginner’s sewing class, participants will learn how to operate a sewing machine and create a table runner. Invite your gal pals or just come and make new friends as we learn how to use a sewing machine and create cute valentine’s themed table runners. For this class, we will be focusing on how to operate a sewing machine. All the materials, tools, and sewing machines will be provided. However, if you have your own machine please feel free to bring it to class. The class will go as follows: -Students will learn how to operate a sewing machine -Students will decide on their color palette and piece together the top of their table runners (all fabric is pre-cut so you just have to focus on the pinning and sewing) -Students will attach the cotton batting and backing -Students will quilt over their table runners (optional) While this class is intended for students with little to no sewing experience, experienced sewists are welcome to get creative and join in the fun. The Studio does require masks for all participants regardless of vaccination status, though we will be taking a break for light refreshments which will be the appropriate time to lower your masks. Please feel free to reach out with any questions by sending us an email at [email protected] You can also follow us on Instagram @thestudiobakersfield to stay in the know on future workshops and classes. The Studio is a creative space ran out of MESH cowork in downtown Bakersfield. The Studio offers both sewing and creative workshop for all ages. Instructors Amanda Shaffer and Jocelyn Dimaya teach both private and group sewing classes. The Studio brings in different makers to teach workshops every month such as woodworking, painting, calligraphy, and so much more.
