MELROSE, MA — Jen Manning, the person chiefly responsible for popular city events like the Summer Stroll, Victorian Fair and Home for the Holidays as head of the Melrose Chamber of Commerce, announced she will be leaving the role.
Manning said in an email Tuesday she submitted her resignation to the Board of Directors in order to pursue new opportunities. She will remain executive director until Jan. 21.
"I am extremely proud of all the Chamber has accomplished during my tenure and will always remember the meaningful relationships I've built during my time as Executive Director," Manning said.
There was no mention of who might succeed her.
Manning took over in March for Lauren Grymek, who spent five years at the helm of the Chamber.
The Chamber has nearly 300 members, according to its website. It has taken on an added importance through the ebb and flow of the pandemic over the past couple years, which has taken a toll on local on businesses.
