learn how to piece together a quilt block by hand Melissa Boyles is a fiber artist working with salvaged and naturally dyed fabrics to make quilts. Join us for this workshop for an introduction to various fibers and how they feel and work in quilt making, a brief history of quiltmaking and the ways the artform is being revived today, and to learn how to hand piece a quilt block. This workshop is suitable for participants ages 8+. All materials will be provided, but participants are invited to bring any sentimental or upcycled fabric or clothing that they want to turn into a quilt block. If for any reason you cannot attend after registering, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible so that we can offer your seat to someone on our waitlist. If the workshop is full, it will not allow you to register, but you can email [email protected] to get on the wait list. Thank you! This is a free event that is possible with support from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. You are not expected to pay anything to attend, although we graciously accept donations to our Studio, which helps sustain our programming at Studio By The Tracks. Thank you!
