BOSTON — Boston police were able to take down a man with a knife who was threatening people in Boston's Back Bay Tuesday afternoon with a bean bag round.
Police responded to a report of a man threatening to hurt people near Massachusetts Ave. and Huntington Ave. around 1:30 p.m., to find the man was making threats, police say.
Boston police were able to subdue the man by firing a bean bag round at the man, taking him down and into custody shortly after.
One police officer and the armed suspect were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Massachusetts Ave. and Huntington Ave. were closed to traffic for a short amount of time while police worked to take down the suspect. Both roads have since reopened.
Cellphone video posted on Twitter shows officers chasing the man down the street before they were able to take him into custody.
