ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington's annual town election will be held April 2, and some residents have already thrown their hat in the ring for local office. According to the Elections and Voting website, William Zagata is running for re-election to the board of assessors, having taken out papers Jan. 14. Town Moderator John Leone is seeking re-election as well and pulled papers Jan. 11. Select Board Chair Stephen DeCourcey took out papers Jan. 4 for another three-year term. School Committee member Kirsi Allison-Ampe is also seeking re-election to a three-year term and pulled papers Jan. 12. Key deadlines: 1/27: Town Meeting nomination papers available2/4: Town Meeting Candidates for Re-election must confirm status2/9: Last day to obtain nomination papers for the Town Election2/11: All nomination papers dueVoter Registration Look up your voter registration status especially if you recently moved or changed your registration from one community to another. You are only eligible to vote in the community where you are currently registered. There is a detailed explanation of the registration process on the State website. You can register online through the Secretary of State website if you have a MA drivers license. You can also print the voter registration form and submit it by mail, Town Hall drop box or by emailing a scan or photo of the signed form. You can cancel your registration using this form or providing the Clerk's Office with a similar signed note.
