Description

GREENWICH, CT — Excavation has started on the Greenwich Point Causeway, according to an update from the town of Greenwich. In this part of the project, the northeast seawall will be reinforced, which will greatly reduce or eliminate the sink holes in the pavement and help secure the structure and increase longevity. The town said it is anticipating completion by April 1, and is hopeful it can be completed sooner. Vehicle traffic will be permitted on the causeway on weekends, the town said. Traffic-reduced Sundays will continue from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., during which time foot traffic can utilize the causeway. The town will continue to allow weekend access as long as construction permits.
