MCLEAN, VA — A fire caused by food on the stovetop displaced two people in McLean Sunday, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. No one was injured. Around noon, units from Fairfax County and Arlington County responded to a single-family home in the 2000 block of Great Falls Street. Firefighters found smoke showing from the roof and quickly located the fire in the kitchen. After the fire was put out, additional fire was found in the attic and extinguished. One resident was home when the fire occurred. The resident had been cooking and walked away from the kitchen. She returned, found a fire on the stovetop and called 911.
