MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — Do you live in Carteret, Old Bridge, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, South Amboy, South River or Woodbridge? If so, you are encouraged to attend a virtual hearing Middlesex County local government will hold at 6 p.m. this Thursday, Jan 20, which will discuss flood risks to this area. In particular, what will be discussed will be the catastrophic and unprecedented flooding of Tropical Storm Ida that hit this area on Sept. 1, 2 and 3 of 2021. Middlesex County wants to hear directly from residents of these towns about how they were affected, what roads or areas suffered particularly bad flooding and hear YOUR ideas about what can be done. The meeting is hosted by a group called the Resilient Raritan River and Bay Communities initiative. Participants in the meeting will play a critical part in helping develop a regional action plan that improves flood resilience in the coastal areas of Middlesex County, including Carteret, Old Bridge, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, South Amboy, South River and Woodbridge.
