Press release from the City of Havre de Grace: 2022-01-19 As the City of Havre de Grace addresses essential issues of replacing aging water and sewer infrastructure downtown, there is an opportunity to also improve our streets and public spaces as part of the construction. The City is revitalizing downtown so it remains welcoming and safe, attracts people and investment, and celebrates its historic charm. The Downtown Infrastructure Rehabilitation and Resiliency Design Project is working with community members to determine this design, with a focus on the streets and other public spaces downtown. Community members are invited to collaborate on the design by joining the Discovery Charrette, a week of virtual public events to help identify the key issues and opportunities for downtown Havre de Grace and begin sketching concepts for new designs. Events will be held from January 24 to 27, 2022. Recognizing public health guidance on social distancing due to COVID-19, these events will be hosted virtually via Zoom. Participants are asked to register for the events using the links below to help us estimate the number of attendees and staff accordingly. You may still join the meeting if you have not registered in advance. Later in the project, there will be another week of events focused on refining the proposed conceptual design, with a date to be announced, so stay tuned. We hope you will join us! Discovery Charrette Week Event Calendar Virtual Public Kickoff Meeting Monday, January 24 | 6 to 8 pm Register Here This opening presentation will provide an overview of the key issues facing downtown Havre de Grace and key principles of great downtowns, as well as an opportunity to talk to the project team about what you love about our downtown, what you would like to see changed, and potential new features to be added. Virtual Open Studios Join an informal, virtual studio session to chat with project designers about key issues and ideas for redesigning downtown Havre de Grace. Two sessions will be offered with the same content to accommodate varying schedules. They are drop-in style, meaning you can join for a few minutes or stay for the entire time. It's up to you!
