Four Schools Going Virtual In Germantown For 10 Days

GERMANTOWN, MD — Students at four of Germantown's public schools will be learning virtually beginning Thursday and lasting for 10 days, ending on Jan. 31. Montgomery County Public Schools said that the decision to send students home for school was a combination of several factors, including student and teacher absences, bus route problems, substitute shortages, COVID-19 cases and feedback from a "multistakeholder group" in the school community. "To prepare for this change in operations, teachers will have one day of preparation where students will participate in remote asynchronous learning," the district said in its announcement. "Full virtual, teacher-led instruction will then take place." The schools that will be online in Germantown are: Clopper Mill Elementary School Captain James E.
