ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police said they arrested a Washington, D.C. teenager Monday in connection with a 2021 Annapolis slaying. Investigators charged him with murder. Officers identified the arrestee as Daniel Fletcher, 17, who is charged as an adult. Authorities accused Fletcher of fatally shooting 17-year-old Christian Parada of Annapolis on Sept. 10, 2021. Police found Parada in an apartment in the 400 block of Captains Circle around 4:24 p.m. Medics pronounced him dead on the scene, a press release said. Detectives ruled the death a suspicious homicide and asked residents for tips. Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland offered up to $2,000 in cash for information that led to an arrest or an indictment. The Annapolis Police Department arrested Fletcher without incident at a detention facility, where he was held on unrelated adult charges. The agency said it charged Fletcher with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and six other crimes related to the shooting. Fletcher is being held without bond.
