HIGHLAND PARK, NJ — Police received several 911 calls of gunshots fired Wednesday morning in Highland Park, according to the Highland Park Police Department.
Police responded to gunshots fired at 6:20 a.m. on the 200 block of South 4th Avenue.
Officers investigated and confirmed that a gun was discharged and multiple rounds had been fired.
However, at this time police have identified no victims of the shooting; there have been no injuries reported and no arrests made.
Detectives are actively investigating the matter and ask anyone with information or video of the surrounding areas to contact HPPD Detective Sgt. J. Culver at 732-572-3800, ext. 4248 or [email protected]
All calls and tips are kept confidential, said Highland Park Police Capt. Jose Curbelo.
Due to the location of the incident, and as a precaution, there was a large police presence around the Bartle School, an elementary school in Highland Park.
