Description
EAST GREENWICH, RI — Parents, do you want to help East Greenwich Public Schools find its next superintendent?
School officials will give parents some input and invited them to participate in a focus group to help in the search.
The virtual focus group is scheduled for 6 p.m., Wednesday. The New England School Development Council, which is helping the district in the search, will ask parents for input on desired attributes, experiences and goals they'd like to see in a superintendent.
Pre-registration is required and can be done here.
Those that can't attend the forum can participate by taking this survey. Students are also encouraged to take the survey.
Superintendent Alex Meyer will retire on April 30, when her contract expires. The announcement came in October 2021, less than two years into when Meyer took the job in February 2020, just weeks before the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
She's worked in the district since 1995, having also served as a paraprofessional, teacher, assistant principal, principal and director of teaching and learning.
