The Evanston Arts Council has been awarded Grants for Arts Project funding totaling $30,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to regrant to local arts organizations.
This matching grant will double the amount currently available for annual arts organization grants through the City of Evanston's Cultural Fund. Evanston was one of two arts councils in Illinois to be awarded this grant.
"The National Endowment for the Arts is proud to support local arts councils that help contribute to their community's creative economy," said NEA Acting Chair Ann Eilers. "The Evanston Arts Council is among arts organizations nationwide that are using the arts as a source of strength, a path to well-being, and providing access and opportunity for people to connect and find joy."
Applications for Cultural Fund grants will be open from mid-February through the end of March. Full guidelines and an online application will be posted by the end of January.
