GILROY, CA — The pressure on hospital systems continues to grow as the rate of COVID-19 infections increases across most of the country. Nationally, COVID-19 hospitalizations are at their highest recorded level, with around 158,800 inpatient beds in use as of Jan. 19, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
