Description
DUBLIN, CA — The city of Dublin warned residents that coyotes have again been spotted around Emerald Glen Park, Central Parkway and the Tassajara Creek Trail.
The city said its animal services officers do not "interfere with healthy wildlife" and residents should instead contact the California Department of Fish and Wildlife with inquiries. Call 911 if you experience an emergency.
People should keep their distance from the animals and never try to feed or tame them. Small children or pets should never be left on their own outside, according to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Make loud noises if followed by a coyote or throw rocks at them, if that fails.
Small pets and garbage may be an attraction for coyotes, according to the department. Secure garbage, eliminate rodents or install motion-activated sprinklers or lights to discourage coyotes from entering yards.
