DEARBORN, MI — Carhartt announced it will keep its vaccine mandate in place despite the Supreme Court's decision throw out a federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate, according to multiple reports. The Dearborn headquartered clothing store's CEO Mark Valade reiterated the businesses desire to maintain a safe workplace in a company email. "We put workplace safety at the very top of our priority list and the Supreme Court's recent ruling doesn't impact that core value," Valade wrote Friday, according to a copy of the email published to social media. "We, and the medical community, continue to believe vaccines are necessary to ensure a safe working environment for every associate and even perhaps their households." Although the Supreme Court threw out a federal mandate that would have required all businesses with more than 100 employees to enforce a COVID-19 vaccine mandate, private businesses can still implement their own COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The Michigan based workwear clothing store started in 1889 and has 600 Michigan employees across corporate and retail sectors.
