DESCRIPTION: Your friendly smile! One you can share with every customer you engage with while providing them with a first class shopping experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide excellent customer service to all customers Maintaining a neat personal appearance Operate cash register and all point-of-sale equipment efficiently Work flexible hours and performing as a team member Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality Clean shelves, bins, restroom, store interior and other designated areas Count inventory, pricing, stocking, rotating and counting merchandise Assist with unloading trucks using pallet jacks Perform these and other functions in an efficient manner, as directed by the Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS: General math skills to allow for cash accounting. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers High level of integrity and honesty; will be responsible for handling cash. Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping Frequent use of handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions Frequently lift/move heavy objects Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays All employees’ availability must reflect the needs of the business, which may change from time to time. The Store Manager determines the availability needs, and this schedule could include a combination of shift times, including mornings, evenings, and weekends Sleem’s Deals reserves the right to make amendments to the schedule and/ or availability requirements from time to time and at its sole discretion All employees are expected to be available to work “Black Friday” (the day after US Thanksgiving) and from the second week of December (the start of the second week in period 11) until the end of the holiday season, to be defined each year based in part on the time period guests are permitted to return holiday merchandise, on an annual basis High school diploma or GED preferred This job specification should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position.
