I posted an ad before and got a lot of responses. They were a little overwhelming. I'm very sorry to everyone I didn't get back in touch with. I think I bit off more than I can chew. Here's what I want ideally: I want to sing backup, play guitar and keys, and write songs for an all-original project. Demos of songs I've written are at the bottom of this post. Pretty clearly I'm not a lead vocalist. But I'm pretty solid as a backing vocalist, and with a harmonizer (which I have), I can help fill out a sound pretty well. What would be the purpose? Honestly, I don't know. Maybe you can help me figure that one out. I'm getting up there in years. I'm not even sure people listen to the kind of music I write anymore. I don't know what venues there are to play. Basically, I'm just pretty dumb, overall. Haha! What I'd like to do is get really good recordings of the songs I've written. That's my motivation. I know that being an all-originals band is a lot harder to find gigs than if you're a cover band. But the upside is a lot bigger. (Probably not for me. I'm too old. But if the band broke big, I'd be fine with being the keyboard player in the shadows who writes songs. I'll let younger people get famous.) Below are some samples of songs I've written. (They're songwriter demos. Yes, I'm aware they're not very good. But they showcase the songwriting, not the performance.) I feel like the first thing they need is vocals. So, if you sing, I'd like to talk to you. As for the rest, I'm good with putting together a band. However, if you can find one singer and one instrumentalist, you can sequence everything else and go out and perform. If anything, you open yourself up to really small venues that way. Every touring professional band is playing along to a sequencer these days. No need to make life harder on us than the pros do on themselves. The PERFECT combo would be somebody who plays either keys or guitar and sings. Even if you aren't that good on another instrument, this could set up a pretty good 2 person act. We could then add members as the picture comes into focus I have instruments, amps, a PA and recording gear. As for what kind of vocalist, I am open minded to anybody.
