My NYC-based word puzzle needs better art for it

The prototype I put together for a word puzzle based on NYC geography with limited and outdated techniques, the best I could do. A section of the page it constitutes is shown. It needs to look more like a map, more like land and water, more New York-y, and more aesthetic. I want to offer it to the NYT or NY Magazine... or it could be presented online where it might get noticed a bit. I have the entire image to send to anyone who might want to collaborate on the effort. No doubt you'd want to start afresh with an available map of the five boros in the google images, or other visual supply source. I am happy to split 50-50 any money it could fetch. It could be a fun thing for an artists portfolio to show. It could have design elements that you think would be good. Or perhaps it's something that would be done for a flat fee, modest no doubt if agreed upon.
