Description

LEARN TO EARN Entry Level Manufacturing Training commences January 31, 2022 Presented by a partnership of New England Business Associates (NEBA) and the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MassMEP) Registrations will be accepted through January 25, 2022 Final Screening to be held on January 27, 2022 The manufacturing industry in the Northeast is losing their core group of skilled laborers. A significant portion of the workforce will be retired within 5 years, which leaves the question: who will step up and ensure the creation of quality parts and products? The answer has created a competition. This is a battle for skilled individuals who will be successful, long term employees capable of managing the unique challenges of the manufacturing workplace. Employees with knowledge of Lean, OSHA, and with MACWIC Certifications. Achieving this type of employee can cost companies large amounts of resources in terms of investment in training, and billable hours, with no guarantee of success. Simultaneously the most unemployed and/or underemployed population in America are people who define themselves as having a disability. The Learn to Earn program aims to create an opportunity for local residents; who have a diagnosed disability, and are between the ages of 17-27 years old; to receive the training they need to become the valuable employees that employers require for the success of their companies. And to connect companies with access to a stable workforce trained in not just manufacturing, but also soft skills, and problem solving; all at no charge to either group. Our grant funded initiative will supply companies with the right people, for the right jobs. Individuals who register will participate in an initial screening to determine skill level, followed by 8 weeks of training to prepare them for the workforce. If you have questions or would like to register, please contact: Adam Hartwell, Division Supervisor of Learn to Earn xt. 163
