About Moldman Moldman was started in 2006 in Chicago, Illinois when our founder had a bad experience with another mold company. He felt there had to be a better way and wanted to help others avoid what he just went through. Fast forward to the present, Moldman has successfully completed thousands of jobs and opened locations in Chicago, St. Louis and is currently expanding throughout the Midwest. About the Position: Moldman is currently looking for a professional, responsible and reliable mold remediation technician to join our expanding residential property preservation and restoration operations. Remediation work will primarily be completed in vacant, foreclosed homes throughout the Chicagoland area. The typical job will be to demolish building materials from throughout the basement, remove carpeting, padding and tack strips on the main levels, and clean the entire house using equipment and chemicals designed to kill and prevent mold. Work will be done with a lead technician and under supervision of the general manager. We provide all the tools, equipment and transportation to the jobsite, you just need a reliable ride to the warehouse! The day starts at 26th St and Rockwell Ave in Chicago, and we work throughout the Chicagoland area. We also travel throughout Illinois and the surrounding states. On occasion, jobs can be several hours away, so some very long days are needed. Looking to hire a full time technician, but are also interested in working with part time technicians. If full time, you are eligible for benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. The pay is $21/hr - $23/hr depending on experience and 35-40 hours a week with overtime. Overtime pay is time and a half! $1000 sign on bonus!!! Half paid after 30 days, and the second half after 90 days. Requirements: 1-3 years of remediation and restoration experience is preferred, but similar experience in construction or cleaning industries is acceptable. A valid drivers license and clean driving record. Must be dependable, reliable and work efficiently with little to no supervision. Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen. Must be available to work between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday with possible overtime if needed. Must be able to work on your feet for 8+ hours and crouch, bend, climb, kneel without assistance. Must be able to lift 50-75lbs regularly without assistance. Must be willing to work long days when needed. We occasionally travel throughout Illinois and to surrounding states. Some overnight stays or 12+ hour days are required. Must be willing to work in less than ideal conditions, such as heat in summer, cold in winter, tight spaces such as attics and crawlspaces, and handling materials impacted with mold and other contaminants. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Bilingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred. Other Info and Requirements: Its best if you enjoy physical work, this position is not the best if you're used to and like sitting. Office/Warehouse has free breakfast, drinks and snacks!
